While nearly identical to the 1993 MTG Unlimited set, the 1994 MTG Revised cards can be distinguished by the single, black line framing the artwork and card text (versus the double line on the Unlimited cards), lighter images, and smaller text. It fashions 20 cards from Arabian Nights and 19 from Antiquities and there are 35 cards in Unlimited that are not in this issue, including the much sought-after Power Nine singles. The MTG Revised series is the first core set to rotate cards out and include cards from the expansion series. It should be noted, however, that its card selection is different from its predecessors. And though it was manufactured after the Arabian Nights and Antiquities expansion sets, the Revised series is considered the third edition of MTG's core sets (following the Alpha and Beta (first edition) and Unlimited (second edition) offerings). Of the set's 306 cards, there are 75 commons, 95 uncommons, 121 rares and 15 Basic Land singles. It's the last of its run which makes it special," he noted. "It's the last set that has the dual lands. "It's a highly respected set because it's the last set to contain the original dual lands," explained Nick Susan, a veteran MTG collector and dealer.ĭaniel Chang, president and CEO of, offers a similar assessment.
